The Ripple Effect

A Sonnet. "Wisdoms Love Letter".

I am like a pebble, a penny, a rock, a leaf . . .

a stone…

Tossed here, there, and about …

Then being thrown down below,  

into the deep,

the deeper I go.

Here I go.

Here I go.

♦

I will affect everyone that I know

and everyone that I see . . .

Everyone that I touch,

and everyone that's next to me!

♦

Yet, as a stranger, I'm still;

on the outside,

and may still even yet,  

fail to see . . .  

the effects that my motives and hands can have on thee.

♦

Never mind now, for I shall surely enough will  see . . .

Yes, I will find out and see,

the effects, of the effects,

of the effects on me!

♦

What I do and where I go,

I will affect those I may or may not know….

They will feel every turn I make,

by every path or road I choose to take!

Like a pebble being tossed deep into a lake!

Pouring out

ripple upon ripple,

my words and actions they take.

Stones being thrown.

Stones being thrown.

Whether it's good or bad

only this "thick rock" shall know,

the mask of charade  . . .

that I may choose to show.

♦

Ah, Only to wish,

to harden thine heart and close thine eyes to the road called "truth",

would it not prove to thine own heart,  what it is, that already I do know! 

Screaming,  "Wisdom is the road! Wisdom is the road!"

♦

That the powerful affects that I may have on the people I love and meet,

by the love and dreams that I show;

In all her "Wisdom", She cries out to me!

She's dancing around me and in everything I seek to know . . .

♦

If just by knowing, someway, somehow,

that ripple effect, affects everyone we meet.

If and when, in turn that ripple does pours out  . . .

It will be  . . . either love and harmony

or hatred and doubt.

♦

Who I become, everyone will see,

for deep down inside I am like the leaf….

floating along and not being tossed,

trusting in myself that I shall not be lost. 

♦

For understanding through my words and actions,

when and after we meet.

Whether I live right or wrong,

Many choices at my feet.

Many choices at my feet.

Wishing only my conscience and heart,

shall be the lesser to know,

but again you can't hide that ripple effect,

for in the midst of it,

eventually, everything will show!

♦

These ripples as they rush out,

in only one direction, they go . . .

out,

out,

out,

away from me,

further and further the effects shall go….

♦

The ones closest to us seem to feel it the most…

So we must follow "Wisdom" and choose how far to be tossed.

Careful judgments come in love,

when knowing what you do,

affects and hurts those who love you the most.

♦

Believe in yourself and everything you can be…

forget not the ripple effect

because it's affecting me.

Stay strong.  "Wisdom" and Love are by your side."
